Lessons from the 64 squares...
This is a pic of the painting entitled "One More Move". It depicts Satan playing chess against a man for his soul. In this pic, it is checkmate in one move and the man will lose. Legend has it that the chess grandmaster Paul Morphy saw this painting, examined it thoroughly and stated confidently "This isn't checkmate. I could win this game for him." A board was set up like the painting and Morphy, taking on all comers, proved his claim.
When teaching my chess classes, one of the main tenets we review of the "3 P's" is Perspective. Sometimes we are too close to a problem or have been convinced by others that "it's impossible" and to not "waste our time". But when you step back from an issue, look at it differently with a new set of eyes, it is here where we come up with some of our GREATEST ideas. Change your perspective and silence the doubt within.
