Lessons from the 64 squares...

"Arguing with a fool is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how well you play, it's just going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board, and strut around like it won anyway."-Anon

I teach chess so my students are able to apply these lessons to everyday life. But I can't teach what I don't know. Today, the Universe gave me an opportunity to show what I'VE learned from NOTG. There was a man who started walking towards our car, where my wife and daughters were sitting. I hop out the car and he walks away, yelling incoherently, making lewd gestures, and commenting about my "manhood". I walked my family upstairs, came back out, and headed to work.

You don't have to capture every piece because it's available. And you don't have to jump into every confrontation because it's offered. Vet your opposition wisely. If it isn't beneficial to you, move on. Anything else is wasted energy.

In the 80's classic "WarGames", a computer simulates all outcomes of a global nuclear strike. After multiple scenarios, it finally comes to the only logical solution: "The only way to win...is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?" My kind of logic. #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #WatchForTheHook #WarriorMindset #BigPicture
